Would you like to join us?

Our expertise knits together seamlessly, to ensure that whether we’re working in the retail or commercial industries – or anywhere in between – clients benefit from an innovative, best-value and bespoke solution to their market entry, expansion, or relocation project.

We’re looking to add to that, with the appointment of a cost estimator – an organised and diligent professional:

Here’s what our cost estimator will be doing:

In this role, you will assist the team on mid to large scale projects in collaboration with our subcontractors and our clients. This position is multifaceted; working across Europe with the pre-construction director and project management teams on pre-conception of our projects before they go live.

The cost estimator will be required to travel to client destinations and work on sites throughout Europe.

Key activities identified below but not limited to:

  • Analyse the legal, technical, and financial risks of a project
  • Research and propose technical and economic solutions
  • Select companies and propose partnerships, managing all communications and relations with technical and purchasing departments, both internal and external
  • Evaluate the profitability and viability of projects, making recommendations to the delivery team
  • Participate in the preliminary financial phase of projects
  • Consult with suppliers to organise and analyse offers
  • Manage preliminary and resource costs – while also having good knowledge of the project contractual terms – is key, as is the capability and confidence to predict and identify future risks or opportunities and associated costs/revenues,
  • Take ownership of maintaining our profitability by allocating budgets for each element of a construction project, while also supervising any changes to the financial aspects of ongoing deliveries
  • Participate in monthly reporting on the project financial position
  • Assist in order management with subcontractors

What we’re looking for from our cost estimator:

  • Architect, engineer or quantity surveyor, specialising in the construction sector
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a cost estimator
  • Proficient computer skills
  • English speaker bilingual in German. Any other European language would be an asset.

Ideally, here’s what you will also be:

  • Self-driven, persevering, and performance-oriented
  • Adaptable according to environments, situations, and people
  • A team leader
  • Flexible in prioritising and re-prioritising activities and organisation in the face of changes and constraints
  • Customer-oriented
  • Creative, with a great sense of innovation
  • Rigorous and organised
  • Knowledgeable of technical and organisational rules in the field of construction

You must be able to analyse project requirements to accurately estimate costs for each component.

You'll be required to communicate efficiently, clearly, and effectively with various clients, colleagues, suppliers, and other parties.

Critical thinking and solid decision-making skills are a must in this job.

You should be able to juggle multiple tasks and provide cost estimates in a timely manner to help projects stay on time and on budget.

Project plans involve a large degree of detailed information, and cost-estimating mistakes can be potentially costly.
