Team Spotlight – Meet Alexandre Loisy

We’ve worked hard to recruit some of the most experienced global talent from the world of design, build, construction and project management. Each month, we put one of our colleagues in the spotlight so you can learn a little more about their role. Next up, it’s pre-construction director Alexandre…

1. Describe your job in one paragraph

I manage all aspects of a project before the delivery starts, which sees me responsible for the initial stages of the prequalification, through the reply to the Request for Proposal, and then overseeing the pricing, methodology and programme. I make sure we reply as accurately and efficiently to a client’s request while making sure they get the best value for money solution.

2. Which one word would colleagues use to describe you?

Not an easy one but maybe ‘efficient’.

3. Why do you think Agilité stands out from competitors?

“Agilité’s main strength is the ability to adapt to clients’ briefs and propose bespoke solutions.”

Our team of professionals have a wealth of experience working in process-driven corporate entities, so we can satisfy complex requirements and project schedules. But the human size of the business enables Agilité to be flexible, agile and much more client-focused than our competitors.

4. You have worked in some amazing places around the world. Which has been your favourite?

I have indeed travelled a lot over the past few years. But I would say that working in Paris for international clients it my favourite. Paris is an international city filled with history and a strong identity but is also very open to the world.

5. What’s your biggest career highlight to date?

“Without a doubt to be part of the launch of this business.”

Leaving a large corporate structure to be part of the Agilité journey, and help develop and build a new business, was the most exciting and thrilling professional experience I have had since the beginning of my career.

6. The phone rings and it’s your dream client… who is it?

I have already had the chance to work for a large number of famous international clients, on landmark projects in France and wider Europe – most of which could be considered as ‘dream clients’.

But, if I could pick a client, I would say the French Chef Alain Ducasse. This is a personal choice as I am a huge fan of his and I am crazy about gastronomy. I would be honoured to fit out a new restaurant for him. It would probably be very challenging as he is very demanding and represents excellence, luxury and each of his restaurants is one of a kind.

7. What key piece of advice would you give to a client planning a fit out project on a budget?

The piece of advice I would give to a client is to assemble an experienced, professional team, as early as possible, and listen to their recommendations. Indeed to meet a budget, it is crucial to make the most of the pre-construction period, to plan, anticipate the challenges and secure the costs. It is during that period that I believe the success of the project is determined.

8. What’s the best feature you’ve ever helped a client achieve in their commercial space?

The best feature I have delivered would be one of the rooms in the Twitter HQ in Paris. The room looks like a traditional haussmanian type salon – with mouldings, mirrors, and a bar for example – but is actually a state-of-the-art recording studio to host interviews for celebrities.  Every inch of the room is filled with high-tech devices, but they are so well-hidden, no one can see them. Very cool.

9. When you’re not at work, where are we most likely to find you?

In the kitchen! As mentioned previously I love eating but enjoy cooking just as much – I can spend hours preparing a meal for guests. Preparing the menu and thinking about what will satisfy my guests is the part I prefer the most!

10. What’s next for Agilité?

We have had a very successful start and the next step I believe is consolidation in the French market, while following our clients to other European locations.
