Team Spotlight – Meet Nicolas Leroy
We’ve worked hard to recruit some of the most experienced global talent from the world of design, build, construction and project management. Each month, we put one of our colleagues in the spotlight so you can learn a little more about their role. Next up, it’s Nicolas…
1. Describe your job in one paragraph
As operations director I look after all Agilité projects from all angles including planning, budgeting, resources, H&S and development. It is amazing the range of responsibilities that the role covers, but this makes every day exciting and different. We have a great team of project managers with an immeasurable capacity and it is inspiring to work with them.
2. Which one word would colleagues use to describe you?
Available.
3. Why do you think Agilité stands out from competitors?
Because we love what we do.
“We put maximum effort into not just doing things well, but always trying to do things better, without limits.”
We couldn’t do this if we didn’t have a genuine passion for our jobs, this industry and customer satisfaction.
4. You have worked in some amazing places around the world. Which has been your favourite?
Paris.
5. What’s your biggest career highlight to date?
Certainly, having taken this role with Agilité. I can’t believe how fast the company is moving and progressing, and what we have achieved so far is something we should feel extremely proud of. When you look at the nature of the brands we’re working with, the projects we’ve delivered and the complexities we’ve solved, I think the future looks very promising.
6 The phone rings and it’s your dream client… who is it?
Any client – past, actual, potential.
7. What key piece of advice would you give to a client planning a fit out project on a budget?
“Step back a moment, identify the key drivers for your project and the ultimate goals.”
Make sure your team is aligned with these objectives, and keep them in mind as future decisions and judgements are made over the course of the project.
8. What’s the best feature you’ve ever helped a client achieve in their commercial space?
It is always a challenge when a client or and architect is looking for something special but I recall a project where we created a fully-digital auditorium in an old Parisian building, with a double height 5m x 10m video wall controlled by motion sensors and integrated into fine millwork. The combination of the space and the technology was great.
9. When you’re not at work, where are we most likely to find you?
At home with my family and friends who are frequently around.
10. What’s next for Agilité?
We are trying the shape Agilité in a way that it can continue its path without losing its DNA.
