Design and build near La Madeleine

Agilité was appointed to deliver a design and build fit-out for a global leader in asset management, located near La Madeleine in the heart of Paris.

The project began in mid-January 2026, moving through design development, cost planning, technical coordination and construction prior to (early) handover in June of the same year. The scope covered the refurbishment of the client’s first floor office space, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen area and associated technical installations.

Due to the central Paris location, deliveries were carefully scheduled, with early morning activity used to secure access near site and minimise disruption in a busy city setting. Agilité also supported the client’s wider relocation. As part of the move, the team helped prepare the client’s former office for return to the landlord, completing minor reinstatement works such as painting and lighting adjustments to support a smooth handover.

The project’s design and technical scope evolved throughout the early stages, with Agilité working closely with the client’s project manager, architect, IT and AV leads – each of whom had different requirements for the finished space.

To keep the project aligned, Agilité refined the design, developed the technical scope in more detail and updated the bill of quantities and cost plan as the brief progressed. This also meant re-engaging contractors to price the revised scope accurately before works moved forward.

The technical requirements became more complex as the project developed, as IT, AV, camera systems and cabling all needed careful coordination, while the lighting scope expanded after Agilité reviewed the existing installation and identified that it no longer met the quality expected for the refurbished office. A new lighting solution was proposed, studied with the supplier and approved by the client.

By absorbing these changes into the programme, Agilité helped the client continue towards its target move-in date without losing control of the wider delivery.

Communication was central to the project, particularly because decision-making sat across several client-side stakeholders and technical disciplines.

Weekly meetings provided the main rhythm for the project, helping the team track design development, technical requirements, pricing changes and progress on site. The client visited at the beginning of the project, again shortly before handover and for the official delivery walkthrough.

With client-side stakeholders in the UK, US and Poland, it made clear communication with subcontractors, consultants and the dispersed team even more important, ensuring decisions were captured quickly and site activity remained coordinated.

The completed workplace brings together a modern office environment with the practical technical infrastructure needed by a multinational investment management firm.

Works included new flooring, joinery, acoustic treatments, glazed partitions, lighting upgrades, and AV and IT installations across the first-floor space. Agilité also renovated the bathrooms, stripping out the existing finishes and installing new tiling, fittings, joinery, mirrors and lighting.

The kitchen area was also refurbished with new finishes, including wall and floor tiling. When tiles for both the kitchen and bathrooms arrived later than planned, Agilité compressed the final sequence, completing tile installation, grouting, joinery, mirrors and finishing works within just a few days to protect the client’s move-in date.

The team also delivered technical cabling works, including new camera systems and routes connecting the first and third floors through the building shaft, helping link the client’s teams across both levels.

The project was officially handed over on 8 June 2026, with employees beginning work in the new office on 15 June. The result is a functional, refreshed and technically coordinated workplace delivered in a demanding central Paris setting.
