Creating an innovative office space for a global leader in health technology

In order to work to a strict deadline, detailed planning was paramount — in which Agilité anticipated any potential challenges to minimise delays. Agilité established relationships with all the relevant third parties from the outset, which included helping the client obtain the necessary permissions from the landlord to commence work.

Agilité remained adaptable throughout the whole project, effectively overcoming administrative and technical challenges while preventing setbacks. This included facilitating the relationship and helping navigate the language barrier, between the French-speaking landlord and English-speaking client. Designs were adapted when necessary to address additional challenges, which included the installation of a complex HVAC system and ensuring that the space’s many IT rooms had the necessary air conditioning to function safely. Expertise and innovation were also required to safely and securely install a 60km cable, used to power the office’s ‘Neuron Wall’.

The tight deadline of this project made stringent planning absolutely paramount — so regular communication was essential. To help keep key contacts up to date and informed, three meetings were held per week, both on-site and remotely.

The project was delivered on time, with Agilité providing an extensive range of services from design development and dilapidation assistance to installation guidance, quality control and construction management. The finished space aligns with the client’s vision, comprising meeting rooms, open plan space, R&D facilities, a reception area, server rooms, a storage room, a staff recreational space and a breakout lunchroom. The office also boasts more unusual spaces and features — including a hospital room, as well as a ‘Neuron Wall’, covered in electronic tablets.

Sustainability was considered throughout, in which Agilité created an Excel spreadsheet dedicated to tracking waste, which the client received following project completion. Agilité also worked with an HSQE consultant to ensure that all materials installed complied with specific sustainability requirements.
