Agilité was appointed to deliver a brand-new store for Lululemon to further elevate the brand’s presence in the Netherlands. The fresh space, which is located in the heart of Amsterdam, is a colourful and creative hub, showcasing details that communicate the company’s broader brand identity, while incorporating elements of the store’s local culture

Planification

As the store is located on Leidsestraat — one of Amsterdam’s busiest streets — Agilité was required to demonstrate adaptability to several logistical challenges from the outset. Scaffolding, signage, and skips, for example, required permits to ensure the nearby electronic-powered trams were not damaged or disrupted. Agilité’s team liaised with the relevant authorities to secure. permits.

Alignement

Comprising a complete strip out and fit out, and involving a wide selection of suppliers, this project required extensive preparation work to ensure all the necessary materials could be procured by the deadline. Using knowledge gained from experience working on similar units, Agilité anticipated any challenges well in advance to ensure a smooth supply chain throughout.

Communication

Having worked with the client and architect previously, Agilité had established a strong relationship that was enhanced through daily meetings and phone calls between the project manager, client and third-party suppliers.

Exécution

Featuring a training room, server room, staff cafeteria and additional storage, this state-of-the-art store is set over two floors — creating a spacious and ambient shopping environment.

In line with Lululemon's desire to share its culture with the wider community and bring local influences into its designs, an Amsterdam-based was commissioned to paint a mural on the back wall — a kitsch illustration to inject another splash of colour into the space’s already bold interior.

Working in crowded, narrow streets can be a real challenge when delivering retail fit-outs — but the Agilité team once again demonstrated its ability to work around any problem and any location by taking a proactive approach to planning and communication throughout.
