Working with Agilité

We’re a growing organisation that creates spaces where people can live, work and play. We are a general contractor and fit-out company delivering tertiary and commercial spaces, and we strive to include sustainability in our building processes.

Our ethos centres around future-proofing our projects – and at the heart of that is our diverse team. We’ve built a reputation as the resourceful problem solver – a trusted partner that anticipates and mitigates issues before they arise, built on a culture of honesty, ambition and trust.

The commercial interiors sector is often complex, especially when working on a continent-wide scale. We’ve therefore built a network of best-in-class professionals, suppliers and consultants experienced in delivering high-quality space planning, design, build and construction services.

Agilité is fully devoted to building a diverse and inclusive team of experts that reflects our customers and users. We want our employees to thrive in an atmosphere of collaboration and togetherness. We continue to build a diverse workforce and foster different perspectives and unique ways of thinking, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion or physical ability.

About the role.

Our expertise works seamlessly together to ensure that whether we’re delivering retail or commercial projects – or anything in between – clients benefit from innovative, best-value and bespoke solutions to their market entry, expansion or relocation projects.

We’re now looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of a cost estimator – an organised and diligent professional who will drive quality across this segment of the company.

In this role, you will assist the team on mid- to large-scale projects in collaboration with subcontractors and clients across the office, retail and hospitality sectors. The position is multifaceted, working across Europe with the pre-construction director and project management teams on the early development of projects before they go live.

The cost estimator will also be required to travel to client destinations and project sites across Europe.

Key Responsibilities.

Key activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and quantifying the costs and activities required for works included in project specifications and bills of quantities (considering production time, materials and labour)

  • Analysing the legal, technical and financial risks of a project

  • Researching and proposing technical and economic solutions

  • Selecting companies and proposing partnerships while managing communications with internal and external technical and purchasing departments

  • Evaluating the profitability and viability of projects and making recommendations to the delivery team

  • Participating in the preliminary financial phase of projects

  • Consulting with suppliers, organising and analysing offers

  • Managing preliminary and resource costs while maintaining knowledge of project contractual terms

  • Identifying future risks or opportunities and associated costs or revenues

  • Maintaining profitability by allocating budgets for each element of a construction project and supervising financial changes during project delivery

  • Participating in monthly reporting on project financial performance

  • Assisting with subcontractor order management

Key Skills and Competencies.

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of local regulations

  • Ability to critically analyse project documentation

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time

  • Experience working on construction and architectural projects

Managerial skills:

  • Negotiation and management

  • Knowledge of construction site phases

  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety processes

Candidate Profile.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A background as an architect, engineer or quantity surveyor, or studies in business specialising in the construction sector

  • At least five years’ experience as a cost estimator

  • Strong computer skills

  • Fluency in English and German (additional European languages are an advantage)

Ideally, you will also be:

  • Self-driven, persevering and performance-oriented

  • Adaptable across environments, situations and teams

  • A team leader

  • Able to prioritise and reorganise activities when faced with changing constraints

  • Customer-focused

  • Creative with a strong sense of innovation

  • Rigorous and organised

  • Familiar with the technical and organisational standards of the construction sector
