Five Guys is an international restaurant brand known for its distinctive customer experience, operational consistency and detailed store standards.

Agilité delivered a 500 sqm Five Guys restaurant in Lille, transforming a shell and core unit within a shopping centre into a fully operational venue delivered on time and to budget.
Agilité was appointed to deliver a new Five Guys restaurant in Lille, approximately 1.5 hours from Paris. The project provided an opportunity to demonstrate the team’s ability to deliver outside the capital while maintaining the same level of quality, responsiveness and brand control expected across Five Guys’ international estate.
The location required careful planning around supply chain availability. Rather than drawing heavily on its network of Paris-based subcontractors, Agilité worked to establish a more local delivery approach, supported by a full-time construction manager on site and weekly project manager visits. Daily communication between the site and project teams helped maintain momentum, with long-lead items tracked through the procurement schedule from the outset.
Having already delivered several projects for Five Guys previously, the team understood the importance of precise measurement and alignment. Many elements, including kitchen equipment, capping and tiles, were client-supplied, making coordination and site checking essential to ensure every item was ready to fit exactly where required.
Five Guys’ store standards were central to the delivery. Every detail needed to align with the agreed plans and brand requirements, from kitchen interfaces and wall finishes to façade works, signage and customer-facing areas.
The team was able to draw on lessons learned from the Five Guys project in Boulogne, particularly around measurement, sequencing and coordination of client-supplied elements. This previous experience helped reduce uncertainty on site and allowed the team to anticipate where detailed checks would be needed.
The project also required flexibility as standards evolved. A collection point that had previously been tiled in other locations was changed to a specialist wood finish for this outlet, requiring pricing, sample approval and manufacture within the programme. Bathroom finishes and illuminated signage also changed, including additional façade structure required to support the glass and signage installation.
With the client based in London, weekly meetings were held on site to maintain visibility and keep decision-making moving. Agilité’s established relationship with the Five Guys team helped create a practical working rhythm, particularly around approvals, deliveries and technical details.
Communication between the Paris-based project manager and the full-time construction manager in Lille was continuous. This was especially important given the need to coordinate newly sourced subcontractors, respond to programme impacts and maintain consistency with brand expectations.
The scope included new partitions, premium wall finishes, façade refurbishment, lighting and audio installations, kitchen interfaces, customer areas and back-of-house spaces. One of the most complex areas was the pickup station, where a heavy fryer arrived only two weeks before handover. The team had to keep part of the wall open until the equipment was installed, before closing the area, completing the finishes and coordinating the final trades within a tightly controlled sequence.
Agilité also supported a practical reuse approach, incorporating spare floor tiles from a previous Five Guys restaurant on the Champs-Élysées within the toilets and office areas. Despite supply chain challenges and late-stage adaptations, the project was delivered on time and to budget, creating a modern, dynamic restaurant experience for Five Guys in Lille.
