US-based sports retailer Lids recently opened its first four European stores – appointing Agilité to manage the commercial interiors for outlets in Covent Garden, Bright, London’s O2, and Lakeside Shopping Centre.
Four projects delivered in just four weeks – and in time for Christmas.
Forming part of a popular out-of-town shopping centre in West Thurrock, Essex – just beyond the eastern boundary of Greater London – Lids’ 60m² Lakeside Shopping Centre store
To uphold the consistent store and brand identity which Lids is known for throughout the U.S. and Canada, the scope of works included the building out of walls – alongside the installation of a slatted feature wall, embroidery counter, and cash cube.
With no time between possession and site start, the project wasn’t without its challenges – particularly when an issue with wood delivery meant the team had to improvise – and call upon strong industry connections – to finish the slat wall in time for the opening.
What’s more, the commercial landlord’s extensive regulatory and health and safety administration process took a considerable amount of time, given the team had to conduct legionella sampling as the unit had previously been vacant for two years.
Delivered on time and to specification, the team also took care of all lighting, IT, data, and electrical work, as well as HVAC, the fire alarm system, and all emergency signage too.
The success of this project saw Agilité Solutions appointed to further support the brand’s UK expansion at stores across the whole of the UK.
