Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has transformed into a global icon, blending football brilliance with the essence of Parisian style.
The PSG Megastore project at Parc des Princes aimed to alleviate overcrowding, provide a subtle route throughout the merchandise and improve the retail experience. The focus was on expanding the space by refitting the first floor, which was previously underutilised as a VIP area. The planning phase included detailed assessments to maximise space usage and enhance customer flow, inspired by the circuit-like layout of an IKEA store.
To ensure the project aligned with PSG’s objectives, weekly meetings were held with the client. All key decisions were discussed and agreed upon promptly, allowing for efficient progress. Challenges, such as supply chain delays and complex installations were communicated clearly and resolutions sought out, ensuring PSG's expectations were met at every stage.
Proactive communication was key to the project's success. Weekly progress reports, complete with photos and updates, were shared with PSG. The team used digital tools like HoloBuilder and Procore to keep the client informed about the project's status, addressing any issues immediately to avoid delays – one such example being the delayed delivery of decorative lighting from the UK due to customs holdups. These issues were managed by working overnight to ensure timely installation.
Elsewhere, PSG's design partner, an American brand, provided custom joinery and fixtures manufactured in China – withAgilité handling customs requirements. With no local installation team in France, our team stepped in to handle the complex installation process, managing the logistics of six tonnes of joinery and coordinating with the brand’s representative on-site to find safe storage until ready for fitting.
The project was executed over three and a half months, with a focus on minimising disruption to the store's operations during opening hours. Major works were completed outside of working hours, and construction was paused during match days to ensure fan safety. Despite challenges with supply chains and the complexity of custom installations, the project was delivered on time and within budget. The result is a beautifully revamped, two-storey megastore that enhances the fan experience and supports PSG's brand.
