Meet our fellow B Corp, Mighty Epiphyte

16th Sep 2026

At Agilité, one of our favourite things about being a B Corp is the community it connects us to — and that community is full of people like Kim Allchurch Flick of Mighty Epiphyte. Kim is a values-led business coach helping founders and organisations get clear on who they are, what they stand for, and how to build something that genuinely reflects those values. She is exactly the kind of voice that strengthens the B Corp movement, and we’re delighted to share her story.

For readers who might not know you yet, tell us – in a nutshell — who you are, what you do, and what makes your business unique?

I’m Kim Allchurch Flick, founder of Mighty Epiphyte. I’m a business coach supporting values-led companies and founders. My goal is to help businesses excel while clearly expressing their values — through systems, preparation and tailored marketing — so they can be found by the right customers and partners.

What inspired you to pursue B Corp certification, and what does being part of the community mean to your organisation?

I do my best work for clients when I fully understand how these frameworks operate. Being part of B Corp, as well as initiatives like Benefit Corporations for Good and People + Planet First, gives me the insight to help founders and teams decide what’s right for them.

I’m motivated by continuous learning — understanding more about how businesses can drive positive change across both the environment and society, and improving my own approach through recertification.

Certification isn’t the end point – it’s the beginning of continuous improvement. How do you approach that in your day-to-day role/business operations?

Certification is a proof point for customers and partners, but it’s not an endpoint. For me, it’s about ongoing progress — continuously refining how I work, supporting clients to improve, and staying engaged with evolving standards like B Corp’s next iteration. The goal is always to keep moving forward.

What’s one initiative, project, or policy you’re especially proud of that’s helping to create a more sustainable or equitable business?

As a solopreneur, equity sits at the heart of everything I do. I work with contractors and suppliers with that in mind, and I actively support diverse communities through volunteering, donations and advocacy. I also run cohort-based programmes, bringing in diverse, paid instructors to share different perspectives and lived experiences.

One of the most meaningful pieces of feedback I’ve received was from a founder who said I helped her feel seen. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

Have you faced any challenges on your sustainability journey, and how have you overcome them?

As a consultant, the work is constantly evolving — projects start and end, and every client brings a different scope. One of the challenges is that many small businesses need support but can’t always afford it. To address this, I created the Impacts Continuum — a cohort-based programme designed to help smaller companies measure, report and improve their impact at a lower cost, including tiered, equity-based pricing.

I’ve also undertaken pro bono work, because I believe it’s essential to support founders building strong, purpose-led businesses.

Looking ahead, what’s one area of focus or innovation you’re excited about for the future of your business?

I’m continuing to develop frameworks and new ways of working, particularly through cohort-based models. I’m also interested in challenging assumptions — asking questions like: what does “good enough” really mean when it comes to environmental impact? If recycling is considered positive, what are the alternatives, and how do we go further? For me, progress comes from questioning, testing and continuously improving.

Collaboration is key in driving change. Are there any partnerships, campaigns, or communities that have been particularly valuable for you?

I have a client that hired me to be an advocate/ambassador for them. I declined because I do that anyway. We help each other by making connections, looking out for potential new partnerships, I'm keen on helping them find close to zero waste packaging. They help create amazing client and other gifts for my purposes. We've become ambassadors and advocates for each other.

This happens with most of my clients, even when the projects are over, I'm advocating and I find they support me also. At a broader level, this creates a growing network of values-driven businesses that are connected, supportive and aligned in their goals.

What other organizations/B Corps do you admire, and why?

I admire many organisations, particularly smaller businesses doing meaningful work. For example, chocolat-e sources cacao with no child or slave labour, avoids deforestation, and produces high-quality products with minimal, recyclable packaging.

I also support organisations like Our Children’s Trust, a non-profit legal firm defending young people in climate-related cases — driving systemic change through policy.

If another company is considering becoming a B Corp, what advice would you give them before starting the process?

This is the sweet spot of the work, it isn't advice as much as helping people gain clarity of their values and goals. B Corp is not the end goal – it’s a pathway. The real value comes from the process: working together, sharing progress, and continuously improving. When businesses understand their motivations, the work becomes more meaningful — and more enjoyable.

And finally, what does being a “better business” mean to you personally?

Better business is a form of contribution — to society, to communities, to the economy and to my family. It is also a form of resistance.

Thank you to Kim for sharing her story and her vision with us. "Better business is a form of resistance" we think that's one of the most powerful things we've heard in this series. If you're a founder looking for a coach who will challenge you, champion you, and help you build something truly values-aligned, find out more at mightyepiphyte.com or connect with Kim on LinkedIn.
