Delivering a design-led Berlin workplace where acoustic performance, bespoke finishes and comfort work in perfect balance.

Agilité was appointed by Facilitate, the client’s project manager, to deliver a high-quality fit-out package within this global technology firm’s new Berlin office. The space was empty when works began, but early planning remained critical, and Agilité monitored the site while landlord works were still underway, allowing the team to understand progress, identify any interface risks and prepare for a smooth transition into its own scope. Weekly meetings with the client helped track landlord progress against Agilité’s programme, while any potential issues around lead times or sequencing were worked through in parallel. 

The brief centred on creating a workplace that felt polished, warm and highly functional, with acoustic comfort playing a major role. Privacy, noise control and atmosphere were all important to the client, particularly across the three conference rooms, smaller meeting spaces and phone booths. 

Rather than treating acoustics as a purely technical requirement, Agilité helped deliver solutions that contributed to the look and feel of the office. Acoustic panelling, ceiling baffles and carefully selected finishes helped soften the large open space, conceal cabling and create a more comfortable environment. 

Lighting also became a key part of the final experience. In the conference rooms, Agilité replaced the landlord’s original long LED strip lighting with lower-hanging, circular and adjustable fittings, giving each space a more considered and distinctive character.

Trust and clarity underpinned the delivery. Agilité kept the client and project manager updated through Procore and regular meetings, maintaining close visibility over progress, decisions and outstanding items. 

During the final 10 days, the client was on site while its own furniture, desks, chairs and supplies were arriving. Although this added complexity, it also created an opportunity for fast, practical decision-making as Agilité was able to troubleshoot live, answer questions quickly and maintain momentum through the final stages of delivery. 

This close collaboration helped avoid surprises at handover, with the team checking every detail throughout the works rather than leaving issues to the end. 

The completed office brings together strong technical delivery and a clear design identity, with the kitchen forming the main focal point of the workplace. Designed as more than a functional support space, it creates a warm, social heart for the office, combining high-quality joinery, carefully coordinated finishes and a welcoming dining area. 

A striking curved timber feature wall welcomes visitors into the space, complete with a bespoke logo, while the main kitchen and adjacent dining space provide a central setting for informal interaction. Agilité also delivered a smaller tea kitchen near the entrance, all room signage, wallpaper installation and the integration of a neon sign within the dining area. 

To achieve a clean finish, the team opened up the wall and floor behind the neon sign to conceal power cables, allowing it to sit neatly against a corrugated acoustic panel. Across the wider office, ceiling baffles were installed to hide cabling and soften the scale of the open-plan area. 

Thanks to a meticulous approach throughout, the project was completed with zero snags — a result built on careful planning, regular checking and a shared focus on getting the detail right before handover.
