From a 4 Star hotel into student co-living space

Natural light floods the space thanks to wall-to-wall windows, while large bathrooms, study nooks, and plenty of storage space create the perfect ‘home away from home’ for the students. The rest of the building is fully equipped with the various amenities that cover every student’s basic needs – including a fitness studio and medical centre.

The six-storey structure saw every floor take on a new design identity, each with its own common area for socialising. The first floor, meanwhile, is divided into three separate parts – one which still houses the original hotel rooms, a second which features a cinema space and chillout room, and a third complete with eight new apartments, and a playroom.

Delivered in 28 weeks, the scope of work included strip out, concrete demolition, masonry, decoration, fixtures and fittings, as well as the creation (shell only) of two boutiques. Agilité Solutions also prepared the site for its HVAC, water, and electricity infrastructure, plus creating space for an elevator to support gym users.

On the main residential floors, each of the 200 existing hotel rooms were transformed into modern apartment by first removing the outdated carpets, lighting, and furniture, and replacing them with heavy-duty vinyl flooring and a compact-yet-practical kitchenette.
