Team spotlight – meet Behzad Tabriz

10th Nov 2023

We’ve worked hard to recruit some of the most experienced global talent from the world of design, build, construction and project management. And, each month, we put one of our colleagues in the spotlight so you can learn a little more about their role…

Next up, it’s finance manager Behzad Tabriz.

1.  Describe your job in one paragraph

As a finance manager in Milan, I am responsible for ensuring projects are completed within budget, and to the client’s exact specifications. Putting my architectural background to good use, I am able to decipher technical drawings and specifications to understand the financial implications, and make educated decisions about expenditure, from conception to completion.

2. Which one word or phrase would colleagues use to describe you?

Collaborative.

3. Why do you think Agilité stands out from competitors?

Its international workforce. When I first started at Agilité, I was struck by the diverse range of cultures and backgrounds among the team. Each person is able to offer a unique perspective.

4. You have worked in some amazing places around the world. Which has been your favourite?

Iran will always hold a special place in my heart, and I had my very first architectural job there, where I learned so much about the nuances of the industry. Another highlight would be working in a pioneering architectural practice in Milan, as the experience I built in this role was truly priceless.

5. What’s your biggest career highlight to date?

Starting my role at Agilité.

6. The phone rings and it’s your dream client… who is it?

A historical building with lots of original features and a good story.

7. When you’re not at work, where are we most likely to find you?

I love spending time in nature, getting away from the busy city life, and being surrounded by trees, mountains, and water.

8. As an organisation with sustainability at its heart, Agilité is dedicated to minimising environmental impact within the construction industry. What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the sector, and how do you think we can rectify it?

I am a firm believer in standing up for what you believe in — from informal conversations to political protests. Sustainability seems to have become a misunderstood term in recent years, with many people believing the environmental crisis will not impact them directly. I would like to see people from all backgrounds, and across all generations, take a stand, and prioritise sustainability, for the good of our planet, and its people.
